Miicoe, Inc. Announces Service Release Availability

PERSONAL ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORD

October 2, 2006 — Today MIICOE, Inc. announced immediate membership availability, enabling individuals and families to sign up to place their medical records into a safe and secure data base that is retrievable twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.  Membership and a quick survey are available at www.miicoe.com.  Questions and feed back should be directed to info@miicoe.com or by calling 719-539-7444 or 877-6-MIICOE (877-664-4263).

This new service brings for the first time an opportunity for individuals to place all of their medical information needed in case of illness or emergency in one location that is safe from disasters.  The records can be securely released easily and quickly to healthcare providers so that quality treatment of an individual can begin immediately.  The medical record data base will house the information that individuals place within it.  It can include:

·         Personal History

·         Allergies to Medication

·         Current Medication

·         Past Medical History

·         List of Physicians

1. Specialty

2. Address and phone number

·         Medical Power of Attorney

·         Emergency Contact List

·          Living Will Information

·         Organ Donor Status

The MIICOE system has advantages that sets it apart, they include:

·         Medical data base can be used as a treatment tool

·         Will aid in the prevention of medication errors

·         Allows for quicker assessment/evaluation

·         Is safely stored for retrieval even through disasters

·         Gives peace of mind when traveling or simply “out of pocket”

·         Saves time, money, and lives

MIICOE, Inc. is experiencing unprecedented interest in their survey and already has members signed up in advance of its official opening.  Members have already benefited from the use of their data base and the feeling of security from knowing that their medical records are safe and available in the event of illness or an emergency.

Jerry Askins, a member of MIICOE, is almost blind and unable to complete forms requested by her doctor. During a recent visit she was able to provide all the information needed for the completion of those forms, as well as information that her physician needed for her medical history.  Everyone was happy and was able to complete their portion of her visit more quickly and with greater accuracy.  Mrs. Askins said she, “never new it could be so easy and painless.”

Member Cathy Vau wrote Toni Huber, President of MIICOE, Inc. the following,

“I am asking each of you to please take the survey. If you have any questions, Toni will

be most happy to respond. Your responses are extremely important. Please consider

each question before answering.

As everyone is aware, I had a life threatening experience recently. Gary was

totally unaware of my past medical history, allergies to medications and past surgical

procedures. Had I been admitted to a facility that did not have my past medical history,

the outcome may have very well been quite different.

I cannot begin to tell you how important it is for medical personnel to know what

is vital to save your life. Please respond it is that important.

Please keep in mind, that you as a patient, has full control of any and all information. This is secure and safe.”

President of MIICOE, Toni R. Young-Huber said that, “MIICOE has been a three year dream that has not allowed me to sleep much.  After thirty years of nursing, my daughter was injured in a hit and run accident.  The hospital knew nothing about her previous medical treatments or the medications she was taking or allergic to.  It was a nightmare that I do not want anyone else to have to go through.  MIICOE’s goals are to empower the individual to not only know their medical history and medications, but to put it all together in a way that the people who treat you can access it when you can’t give them the information.  It is for peace of mind for parents and families.  If, an accident occurs in their family at least their medical information will be accessed and they will be treated as if their physician was right there.  MIICOE will provide education on medical care, a secure medical record that will not be lost like in Katrina, a way to move medical information securely and safely to those that need it for treatment in an emergency, and a system to save money, time and lives.  I hope that everyone will take the survey and become a member.  At a cost of less than a dime a day it is a great tool to help protect yourself and your family.
